12 bolt ?
will the gears from a truck 12 bolt interchange with the gears from a car 12 bolt? I have a guy that want's to swap with me. If it will work, is it a straight swap or a real pain? thanks.

you have to mess with shims and stuff. Use the book for your truck it tells you all you have to go through. I havnt done it but it sounds kinda scary. The way i understood you have to shim and aling the overlap of the gears so they ride right. i kept trying to figure out how to know when your alinged right other than just driving it and checking the wear pattern.

No sir, the truck 12 bolt internals wont interchange with 12 bolt car. the 12 bolt car diffs are actually stronger than the truck diffs. Pinion stem dia on the truck is 1 .438, & the car is 1.626....carriers are also different. crazyL
