Toolbox Door Gasket

I know that the toolbox door gaskets are not reproduced but has anyone found a good source that can be used as one ? There must be a small rubber gasket that would work that NOW comes glued on to something else that I'm not thinking of. The picture below, shows where it goes on the door and this one is in MUCH better shape then mine. I also need the support bracket that keeps the door from going all of the way down. Does anyone have any ideas ?

Thanks !!!

I have some trunk seal left over from my buick. I'll check it out and let you know. Don't just run out and buy open cel foam tape, youll be wasting your time.

Re: Toolbox Door Gasket

Steve is the gasket round? If it is try the seals that are sold to go underneath door panels. It glues to the door and acts as a seal between door and the panel. They come in pairs for around $10 or less, it will prob. take splicing to get compl, etely around the door.

I don't know if the '67-'72 door panel seals would work or not. You should be able to get them from any vendor.

Re: Toolbox Door Gasket

Thanks a lot guys, for your input - I decided to look around Truck Carlisle next Saturday and see what I can find from the "weatherstrip and seal venders" there. If I don't find what I want, I'll go looking for some of the things suggested here. I don't know exactly what it looks like - I haven't seen the toolbox area for over two years and I don't live close to where it is being restored. The guy doing the work is going to bring a hunk of it with him next Saturday. I started this thread in hopes of finding someone who has put some weatherstripping of some kind on their OWN toolbox door. I was thinking I'd like to get some of the material that's a little larger then "factory" so when the door is shut, the black rubber would squeeze up into the crack to make the door stand out a little better against my white truck - I've probably got $500 invested in the restoration of the toolbox area and I want EVERYBODY to notice it !!!

Re: Toolbox Door Gasket

. . . .

As seen in the picture below, my toolbox is now finished ( except for the gasket on the door )

My door never had a gasket while I've owned it, so I don't know what it should look like.

Does anybody have a "hunk" of original toolbox door gasket that they could take a close-up picture of, so I would know what to look for ?

THANKS !!!
