What to do, Front end
Got my spindles 2 1/2" from summit. Was planning to install & cut the front the spring 1 coil, This would let me know how it going to set, or install & put back the stock springs to see how it sits. Do I really need a spring compressor ?? I really don't want to buy new springs 1" dropped & find out don't like the sit. I did the rear with 4" springs & 2 1/2 blocks, I like the results. What do you think ??

Re: What to do, Front end
No spring compessor needed. Put a jackstand under the frame rail behind the wheel. Then place a floor jack under the control arm and lower it until the tension is released on the spring. It will just about fall out. Once you cut one round off the spring it goes back in easier.
The rear looks just right to me.

Re: What to do, Front end
I used a cutoff wheel careful to avoid inducing heat in the spring. I lopped a rung off my front coils to get a bit of drop. They went in much easier than expected with out a compressor. However the same safety rules apply. Run a piece of chain thru the spring untill everything is bolted up and secured. I'm just building funds for an ECE 2/4 Drop for my 72.
Paul Edit jusjust realized how working the back suspension. Looks good.

Re: What to do, Front end
I am presently doing pretty much the same drop on my stepside. 2 1/2spindles and 1 round off the stock front springs and 4" rear springs. I used a 4 1/2" angle grinder to cut the coil. Minimal heat.

I'm glad to see your working on that thing Boog. I'm gettin' old, and I want to see it on the road.
