Question 67 GMC Chrome Grills

Are the reproduction '67 GMC chrome grills listed in many vendors' catalogs available at all? I've been asking my local vendor for the past year and he keeps saying that they are not available yet.

I figure it's probably less money to get the repop than it is to straighten my bent up painted grill and get it chromed (looks like someone used the grill to hook a chain to something).

Re: 67 GMC Chrome Grills

Did you check Brother's?

$500 sure seems high. I think I would start looking on ebay and anywhere I could before spending that much. It would have to be a pretty nice truck and in great condition for me to shell out that much for a grille.

Re: 67 GMC Chrome Grills

That's the problem, I'm in Canada, and shipping any grill to here is expensive. I've found some on eBay used in fair shape, not great, and they were around $150 or more, so with shipping it come out to roughly $250+ for an OK grill with pits. Local shops want $500 to re-chrome something that size. I'll keep looking though, as I can't quite bring myself to spend that much on a grill. Locally, the chrome ones are usually shot (salt!) and most 67's had the painted grills that I've been able to find. I might try a later grill just to get by.
