kinda neat...according to the discription, all the metal is new but painted to look aged.

Re: movie truck on ebay

"...professionally aged down to create a rustic look".

Exactly what does that mean? The truck sat in the body shop's parking lot for 6 months (or more) while the sun and rain took it's toll on the body?? And they paid to have this done???

I do think I remember seeing it in "Rat Race" but it's been a while.

I'll raise the BS flag here,
nobodies that good at making something look old and worn out 'cept mother nature.

Damn interesting approach by the seller though.

San Fernando is about 15 minutes from Burbank etc. and not far from me either. I might go look.- If the price stays reasonable. Brian

Re: movie truck on ebay

Re: movie truck on ebay

if its not redone then why has the radio hole been all welded up and shaved? never seen an original radio delete like that.

and the fenders have no emblem holes or sidemarkers, ive never seen that on an original one either. even if its not original, why would someone shave that stuff on a beater work truck anyway.

Re: movie truck on ebay

There is a truck just like that in Wassup Rockers. Its dark in the scenes with the truck so I wasn't able to make out if it was a 69/70 or a 71/72, but there was a 69-72 with a homemade looking flatbed, and slightly bluish in color.

all true... but if it was going to look old and beat, why would they shave all that stuff to begin with.. kind of strange

they might have shaved the emblems/ and marker lights to take the focus off the truck, to make it more subtle. maybe thats why they did the radio delete to, just incase the interior was ever going to be in the backround of an important shot. ive heard they take all the small things into consideration for movies/ commercials.

just look at the rest of the truck, very plain looking, not white letter tires, hubcaps instead of chrome/ or painted wheels, no generic company logo on the door, ect.

Re: movie truck on ebay

Unless they're getting paid by GM,the studios don't want "Chevy" on the fenders, the radio,or anywhere else for that matter.
