New takeoff dually box

They are still out there.....brand new takeoff 1980 dually pickup box...complete with tailgate.

Found it just outside Calgary....the owner has been saving it for 33 years "just in case"

I picked it up for my 79....and it is even the correct colors

It was $2500.00 ...which seems like a lot until you start paying bodyshops to try and clean up the inside of a box.

The 79 has original paint and only 40000 km on it but the old Sakatchewan farmer put wood stakes on the bed pockets and hauled hay in it...and bent the tailgate. It still even had the original bias ply tires on it when I got it.

So I was thinking that I would have to repaint the truck as we could never match up the paint.

So the plan now is to put the new box on and just detail up the original paint. And add a chrome sport rear bumper.

Re: New takeoff dually box

Your right a body shop wouldn't be cheap and only real way to match the paint is paint the whole truck.

I would have been hard pressed to pay that kind of money for one for myself, but your truck looks to be VERY nice, especially with the miles.
That price is like putting money back in your wallet all things considered!

Re: New takeoff dually box

Kevin but what a body shop would charge to fix his bed right and repaint the whole truck would be more then he spent for that bed i bet.
