Wiring problems with my 77 C10

Hey guys, I'm so glad I found this forum! I really need a good resource for my newest project. its a 77 C10 stepside, lowered 6 inches in the front and 5 in the back (flip kit). So, the truck started and ran great when I got it, I took out the gauge cluster to swap in a new one (crappy gauges) and when I put it back together, all the dummy lights came on and the heater fan and all that but when I try to start it it won't turn. no click, nothing. there are a few wires in the dash that are loose. a purple one, a purple one with a white stripe, a yellow one and a black one. the yellow one is melted, looks like it shorted at one point. Don't know where these go. Also, down by the starter theres a red (covered in dirt) wire with a female spade terminal just hanging. Anyone know what this is for? Also, theres a brownish wire that goes back under the cab by itself. Is this the fuel sending wire for the gauge? Thanks!
