From What I read makes me feel better about the spoon full I put into my coffee each morning for my only one cup a day and Honey has no experation date Must be at least one other on here that has thoughts the same about honey as the ones I found when looking up how good Honey is for us to eat ?

Re: Did you know this about Bees Honey ?
I eat oatmeal every morning. I toss in a teaspoon of honey, a dab of peanut butter, handful of pecans, a dash of cinnamon and a handful of blueberries.
That probably covers all the macro and micro nutrients I need for the day.

Re: Did you know this about Bees Honey ?
I like honey, and it's a pretty amazing food, but I wouldn't want to try to live on it. I suspect the downsides would become really obvious pretty quickly.

I believe it's also good for the skin. Catch it early enough, that mixed with Aloe wards off sun spots that would otherwise have to be frozen off, and those can turn to cancer. Kid you not, soak a small piece of gauze, let it sit over night, and prepare to be amazed. https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0...?ie=UTF8&psc=1

Re: Did you know this about Bees Honey ?
This thread reminded me of what my grandpa use to say when he heard someone call a person honey.
“If he is honey I’ll take my bread dry”.

About that aloe/honey product. The top of my head wasn't flaking so much, but the skin was pealing say, for about a year. And with that some balding on top, that's just how it goes. The occasional aloe shampoo no longer did the trick. Tried Neutrogena moisture scalp happy shampoo. Hair likes it few times a week, but that didn't fix it. Coconut some nights, wow, still didn't fix it. Tried that aloe/honey product, doesn't take much, night before plan to shampoo. Fixed it, and hair instantly happy.

Re: Did you know this about Bees Honey ?
My brother is a beekeeper with 2 hives. He gives jars of honey at Christmas and it lasts us all year.
I had nasty hay fever for a long time but he insisted I try a teaspoon of honey during pollen season to alleviate the symptoms. It worked! He said it needs to be local honey because somehow it works against the effects of the local pollen. Not sure if that's medically proven, but I don't care cuz I ain't sneezing anymore.

Re: Did you know this about Bees Honey ?
I also think of this too.. how lucky we are to have bees that let the bee keepers set them up to store the honey they make . in return the bee guy takes the bees to the place for them to polinate ,,I guess its a two way street ,,good for them good for us ,, there are other bugs also that pollinate ,, I think some flies do too ..

Re: Did you know this about Bees Honey ?
.
I had to take a peek on this. From the Internet: https://skeptics.stackexchange.com/q...egyptian-tombs excerpt: A recent previous discussion on this site contains the claim that honey has a shelf life that's so long that edible jars of honey have been found in Egyptian tombs several thousand years old. The Smithsonian article in question appears to be The Science Behind Honey’s Eternal Shelf Life, which starts off with "Modern archeologists, excavating ancient Egyptian tombs, have often found something unexpected amongst the tombs’ artifacts: pots of honey, thousands of years old, and yet still preserved. Through millennia, the archeologists discover, the food remains unspoiled, an unmistakable testament to the eternal shelf-life of honey." The Smithsonian article references SL Buchman and B Repplier's Letters from the Hive, and I'm unable to get hold of a copy, but the claim is quite extraordinary to be citing a book of that sort. A previous question on this site asked about the shelf-life of honey, but the answers there don't really address the thousand+ year timescale, even though the OP's source there also contains the claim that "You could place it anywhere for thousands of years and it will not spoil. In fact, edible honey was found in ancient Egyptian Pharaoh King Tut’s tomb!" I know peanut butter is still edible after some 50+ years when packaged properly. I've seen this guy eat it: https://www.youtube.com/@Steve1989MRE ...so anything is possible eh? -Kevin
