on the inside of the hood theres two supports that run from front to back. do they have some 4inch wide fillers between them and the sheet metal?

There are some rattle strips that fit between the X brace and the hood. They may need replacing(probably do after30+ years. These hoods are not known for their great strength in this area.I have heard of people putting cowl hoods on to get more hood stability,

I've had my C20 for a long time and never had a problem with it shaking. When I got my C10 I noticed it did shake quite a bit. I was figuring on having to replace the strips between the sheet metal and the braces on the underside of the hood and hope that cleared it up.

Has anybody gone as far as putting in another cross brace to add more support right in the middle of the hood?

Putting the strips in should take care of it if they fit tight.

Does the 67-68 hood shake like that, they look stronger than the 69-72 hoods, this might be a dum question can a 67-68 hood fit on a 71 or is different on the front?

My hood looked like it was going to fly off the truck it shook so bad. I not only put the new padding between the cross members and the sheetmetal but put new foam on the back and front stabilizers also. New hood bumper stops and new hood levelers and it is so rock solid it never moves at all. I think it was about 20.00 for all but worht every penny~~!

67-68n hoods don't work with the later front clips. The way most people get the laid back look in front of the hood is to pie slice the hood and lay it back.I haven't done one (no body man here) but it does look cool and only someone who really knows these trucks would notice.
