My '67 "Green Bean

this is my 1967 short stepper. it has a 1967 292 I6 with a 68 carb, 4 speed on the floor, small window.

she is all mine. I received this truck free with 5 days of manual labor. Also my truck was towed to my house for free by some friends.

this is my 292.

this is the interior, i have taken the carpet out because it was just laid in there, and i actually dont want carpet in this truck, also came without seat-belts.

My Tailgate
This is going to be a slow build thread because of school and money but first i will be pulling the motor and doing a reseal job on the motor. please anybody that can help with anything i am willing to listen and up for any suggestions and will be posting many pics as i work on my first and favorite truck. MY 67 "Green Bean!"

Re: My '67 "Green Bean

Looks like it will be a fun truck. I like that motor/transmission combo. My dad had a 292 3 speed 70 truck like that, and I loved it.

Does it have power steering? I see two drive belts.

Re: My '67 "Green Bean

Great truck! I also like the tailgate lettering.

Probably one of the key things is to know your budget in relation to what it needs...or what you want to do or have done (your skills and friends with skills can help save you time and money...).

Take some time when go through it...take notes...do research.

Save your old parts (you may regret throwing them away at a later time) take pictures so you can remember where things go. I love using sharpie pens and various sandwich/freezer bags to keep track of small items (it pays off later to stay organized).

I am sure others have tips to help you...Best of Luck!!!

Re: My '67 "Green Bean

I just checked out your Ytube clips, nice!

Glad you were able to score some parts for affordably! You will be amazed at what a bit of cleaning, basic body work and paints can do.

Don't forget safety as well. How are the brakes?

Re: My '67 "Green Bean

about the brakes, haha, i have put fluid into the master cylynder and pumped them up and i got brakes. but i think the rear wheel cylynders are leaking becaues the fluid closest to the firewall loses fluid. i have checked yet but it could also be a rust hole in brake lines or worn out brake hoses.
