Re: Interesting concept on CL (not mine)

A long trip pulling a big trailer. It would be 2422 miles one way for me. That's a bit over 484 gallons of gas round trip.

It looks like it has a mid 70's 1 ton crew cab long wheel base 4x4 chassis under it. I'd sure like to know the history on the cab as it looks like it was put together a long time ago and very well done.

71 GMC 2500 that is getting a Cad 500 transplant.
77 C 30 dualie, 454, 4 speed with a 10 foot flatbed and hoist. It does the heavy work and hauls the projects around.

Re: Interesting concept on CL (not mine)

Is the cab some type of factory deal. Sure looks right. Either way for $1000 thats super deal if it looks as good in person.

Those used to be railroad and utility company special orders in the lower 48. Maybe mining companies used them up there?

Re: Interesting concept on CL (not mine)

I'm afraid to go look at it for fear that I might try to drag it home! My 56 Napco is stripped down to the frame in my garage and is going back together extremely slow.

But I am really curious...

Oh, I see your one of those "enabler" guys. LOL

Have things cooled down any in Vegas? I bought a house down there for a vacation place. I was there last week during the 117 deg stuff. Pretty hard on a Alaska boy. My pool was 91. Felt like a luke warm bath. Not to refreshing. I still love it there though.

Re: Interesting concept on CL (not mine)

The rear door looks something like what I did only they did not lean the front part of the window towards the front of the cab. Roof looks to have a bow in it. Sill a good start. Most of the hard work is already done. If it was a coach built truck the doors would not be suicide.
