Stainless Steel Tape

Hey, anyone used stainless steel tape for cosmetic repairs on your vehicles? I have a 68 front hood trim piece and eyebrows that need some attention. I tried cleaning and even painting them with bright silver paint. A friend told me of stainless tape he got at JC WHitney's and used for some repairs. I tried a piece on a chrome door handle and after it was polished, it blended in beautifully. I was thinking of doing the eyebrow trim and that trim on the hood with it. It isn't supposed to oxidize and says it grows (the adhesive) stronger after time. What do you think?
