Post A Couple Questions

My first is regarding installing a FloorShifter in my 72' Chevy Pickup. I have a TH350 Transmission and I was wondering what all is involved in doing this modification? I assume you need to get a steering column from a non-automatic truck, how hard are these to come by? This would be my first floor shifter install, and I have been told it isn't too difficult a task, yet any help on doing this mod would be a great help!
My second question is that I have been having a heck of a time trying to find a "Phantom" style Billet grille for my 72'. I have found numerous regular style inserts, but not a Phantom-Style that covers the headlights as well. If anyone knows were I can find one that would be great as well!
Any help on either of these questions is greatly appreciated. If you do have a replacement steering column for a reasonable price, please email me at b-man@hang-ten.com
Thanks!

Kenny

On the column ,you need to look for a 3/4 or 1 ton 4 spd unit to get that smooth look. I used a B&M shifter, & it wasnt bad to install, should have some instruction with it. I cant say where to look for the phantom grill, but there are some guys on the board that have done that mod........very sharp ! good luck......69 longhorn.

Thumbs up

Any 67-72 4spd truck column will work for a smooth column including 1/2ton, and any 4spd van column through 80.
You can also get a new remanufactured tilt 4spd column through us

We don't keep the Phantom grill in stock but I have gotten them for others in the past. Drop me a line at robbinspd1199@yahoo.com
I'll be glad to help. They are salty though at twice the price of a standard billet grill for a 71-72

Thanks for the help, I was wondering if instead of buying a whole or complete column if i could modify my current one and add one of these: http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eB...tem=1831539964

I later did a little more digging and found out how much the phantom grilles run...maybe I'll have to stick with a regular billet!

Thanks Again!

Kenny

That's how I plan on doing it. I have one, and may have access to another.
