quick where to hook question - dinners calling

The large port in the side of the valve cover vented through the air cleaner - with the little bonnet, can I just make an oil catcher (like the screen in the original air cleaner) and go in say... the vacuum line or does it have to go back through the carb first? What's the difference between the line in the front of the valve cover and the one at the rear (which just goes into the iintake)? Mammas calling for dinner but I'll be back..... Thanks all!

The one at the rear is the PCV valve. The one on the front is the clean air intake (went to your old air cleaner). Just put some kind of filter on it so as to filter the air that is sucked in by the PCV.

leave the rear line hooked up and just go to the parts store and get one of those little breathers and pop it on the front nipple and youre good to go
