Suspension???? Dunno what to do.

Ok, so... I've got a 67 Chevy short bed. Its a six lug but it also has a half ton suspension. Is it a heavy half? But now here is the dilemma, I want to lower it and here in Utah I don't know of any local shops who specialize in suspensions. LMC looks like they have every thing to do the job . I want to drop 2 1/2 in the front and 4" in the rear. Besides doing the C-notch and shocks what else comes into play? Don't know much about suspensions ,any help?

Leaf or coil springs in the rear? The rear is much easier but it's all pretty easy to do.

Try reading this thread:

Also, the suspension thread on this forum might be of a little more specific help!

Re: Suspension???? Dunno what to do.

There are better places to buy parts than LMC.
Especially suspension parts.
Look here for affordable stuff.
suspension:

Re: Suspension???? Dunno what to do.

Also there are quite a few companies that make kits, check the parts boards on here sometimes parts for sale cheaper than buying from companies.

i looked at the lmc parts at first, ended up going with cpp. for a whole front and rear suspension and 4 wheel disc conversion, it was much cheaper than lmc, and it even included new control arms and trailing arms.

I got all my stuff from early classic enterprises. Great company to deal with and the quality of their parts is top notch.

I don't think the c-notch is required.

Re: Suspension???? Dunno what to do.

With Early Classic you can go up to a 6" drop with out the need of for a c-notch Call Early Classic You can do a 2/4 drop for 359.00 this is just with springs and shocks for 359.00 But I would do the drop spindle up front to keep the geometry right. I would go with the 3.5/5 drop this includes springs shocks drop spindles and shock relocator kit and track bar for the rear it runs 759.00. They can taylor the kit to what you want just giving some ideas. Great people to deal with just my two cents worth. You will need disc brakes for the drop spindles though forgot to mention.
