And Black Betty was born... Bam-a-lam
Her she is, Black Betty. She is a 68 C10 Long bed that I stole last month (I say stole because for the price I might as well have).
She currently is in need of some lovin which I plan on giving her very soon. Right now she has a 350 to a Powerglide getting ready to go to a 454 with a Powerglide. Got a quote on the body work today for the total of $2500 to $3000 depending on materials. For paint I'm going to paint her the same flat black with a WWII style pinup girl (Modeled by my Lady Ashley who is sitting here watching me type this) on the doors, and the front nose cone paint style they do on the A10's |

Not sure other then she has a 3" drop. In the process of getting a place for her to sleep at night. Once that happens I can undress her and find out for certain.

Re: And Black Betty was born... Bam-a-lam
I will post some pictures of Ashley as long as no one tells her I'm doing so. As for the front, those must have been taken off because they are no longer on the truck. But I figure I will keep this post going with all of Bettys updates.
So yesterday I took the truck to my dads to scrape the factory under carpet insulation off, and well he has all the tools! So got started and everything looks okay for the most part other then the spots on the floor pans on the left under the high beam switch is gone on both driver and passenger side. The rocker sills came off and where the weather strip faces the inside of the cab it's ALL GONE. Rusted out completely. And on top of it, as we were grinding off the sill screw on the passenger side noticed the fuel tank is leaking. Betty tried to kill my father and I. I'll post the pictures of the damage tonight after work. Posted via Mobile Device Last edited by 68BlackBetty; 04-12-2011 at 10:56 AM. |

Re: And Black Betty was born... Bam-a-lam
Probably the best patch for you will be the inner rocker patch that goes from front to back and has part of the floor attached. Should take care of all of the rust and then put a new rocker on.
