Re: What piece am I missing?
It is a support and also acts as the brake pedal stop. I don't know the actual name of the part

2 bolts. I don't think there is a plate to cover that. Pic courtesy of LMC.

Re: What piece am I missing?
What's lower steering column bracket for $100 Alex?..........Really, if I recall, that's a label I pulled from my cranium. If I remember right, I couldn't find a label or even a decent image in the assembly manual.
Ah, I knew I'd seen a pic. on this site. Courtesy LockDoc: http://67-72chevytrucks.com/vboard/s...d.php?t=643180 Lower Steering Column Bracket The lower steering column bracket is somewhat square. This attaches below the column to column support bracket clamp using four 1/2" head tapered screws with integrated washers. The screw threads are 5/16-18 x 13/16. There are two fixed nuts on the column support bracket and two on the dash panel.

You are missing the pedal stop bracket. It is held up by four 5/16" bolts. LockDoc

There should be one or two rubber bumpers in the square holes. (you can't see the holes in my picture). One bumper for automatics and two for manual transmissions.... LockDoc

Re: What piece am I missing?
Got to love the knowledge here! If I go deeper into my truck, I'm going to have my wife photo the living snot out of the parts I'm working on (interior-wise- the engine, trans and suspension, I have figured out). My wife will take the pics, because I don't care what it is, my pics are always bad. I can take a pencil and paper and make a drawing that you would have no problem understanding, but a photo? I'm dead.

Re: What piece am I missing?
Never put it together that was a pedal stop bracket. Doc strikes again. Guess I need to edit my &^O^^^notes. Helps to have a proper name.
