LMC dash molding issue

I purchased a new passenger side dash molding and new AC vents from LMC for my 80 c10. I cannot get the nuts that came with the molding to hold tight. If I barely touch the AC vent the nut falls off. Anyone else had this issue or any suggestions?

Re: LMC dash molding issue

I have used these in different applications with some success.
Something like this style may work. There are different types. If it's threaded put a washer on first then the push lock .

Super Glue ?

Re: LMC dash molding issue

I took the trim to the hardware store and got steel wing nuts . Worked great

Re: LMC dash molding issue

The studs are not threaded. I assume the nuts are suppose to make threads but I don't think they did much anything. I thought they were holding until the whole dash was reinstalled and I moved the far right vent and one nut fell off and now the vent is loose. Ugh!!

Re: LMC dash molding issue

The steel nuts will make threads
