Motor Perch

How much of my perch can I cut away before I am in trouble? On the passenger side just a bit of shaving gave me the clearance I needed for my headers. On the driver side the raised portion of the perch (stock 72, center bolt perches) hits the second tube on the header. I'm guessing I'd need to cut about an inch into the perch or around 1/3 of the perch right where the headers (try) to come through.

I'm trying to avoid buying tubular perches if at all possible.

Re: Motor Perch

I used 73-8? mounts when I put the 94 TBI350 into my Burb so I could gain more clearance. The 94 manifolds hit the perch before the motor mount hit the perch. The 73-8? mounts were a cheap easy solution and they are easier install imo.I hope these pics will give you a clue if it will work for your headers.
