quadrejet carb this was pulled from a running driving truck about 4 months ago.. numbers on carb are 1708029 2

according to the numbers 170-80-2-9-2, that Q-jet is a 1980, 49 state emission legal, auto trans spec carb. the 9 is a hokey number (Rochester didn't always follow their own rules) but we can infer that is a chevy unit by the 90 deg fuel inlet. so you have a good carb there for a driver.....1977+ with all the improvements plus electric thermostat, but it is a fully mechanical carb so an easy install-upgrade on one our classic trucks!

On the Q-jet, how is the throttle bores, are they worn or sloppy, has the idle mixture plugs been knocked out? and the vacuum pod pull off hold vacuum? thanks

doesnt appear to be sloppy or worn, the idle mixture plugs i do not see, just the 2 rectagular heads inside the hole for adjutment, and the vacuum module appears to be working well,,when i pushed it in, you can hear it push air out in the carb,and it came back slower then i pushed it in,,i hope this helps
