Anyone make replacement roofskins?

Just curious, does any company have replacement roofskins for 67-72 trucks? I have virtually rust free cab from a 1 ton grain truck(always shedded), but it has the cab marker lights, and my bodyman told me it would just as easy to change the skin instead of smoothing off the lights.

Find another bodyman, its not hard to weld up holes. Much easier than fixing rust. Brian

I agree with your bodyman it would be as easy just to replace the top. either way it going to be a lot of work but you could drill out the spot welds in the seams for a nicer job and less filler. just find a cab with a good top and cut it out. not sure if the make a replacement skin for the top yet. while your in there just shave the drip rails and the seam at the back of the top.

64fleetside- He probably has the roof with the raised hump around each light. A used roof skin shouldn't be hard to find. At least they aren't around here. I have several doners. I don't think anyone makes a reproduction skin. A used skin should be cheap, but getting someone to cut off what you need, box it up, and ship it that far will drive up the cost a bit. Check with Mothertruckers. I think he sells used ones, but I'm not sure. I would help with one of mine, but will be busy, and won't have the time in the next few weeks.

My bad-forgot 67-72 had those little "pads" they sit on. Too bad you're so far away, I have a 72 I'm scrapping, has nice roof-but that's about it. Brian
