S-10 door rubber

I put the S-10 door mouldings on about a month ago and really have to slam the doors to close them any suggestions other than time to soften them up.

You can move the strikers out a little. Just be sure to mark around them with a fine tip marker first so you know where you're at, and keep the top and bottom lined up with the lines. I would try about 1/16th of an inch at a time.

Re: S-10 door rubber

Trkfrk - The S-10 rubber clamps on and is a pretty easy install, it is thicker and thus the doors have to shut hard right now. There was some posts a year or two about members using them that is where I got the idea from and bought them and was not ready to install until the paint was done. Love your garage.good luck on your build what colour are going to paint it.
Thanks lockdoc I will give it a try.

Re: S-10 door rubber

They push on vs glue on. One thing when you install them though is to make sure you have a very smooth surface aka scrape all of the old glue from the previous set. Once that is done its just like Lockdoc said you may have to adjust the striker out a bit. I had to do that for mine as well.

Once they were setup and you are inside it was a thud when it closed.

Re: S-10 door rubber

I saw at this forum some members use dakota trucks rubber doors and as soon as I found a pair of good ones in a junkyard, I bough them cheap: 5 bucks a piece and trust me they fit perfect, I'm going to keep them for a little while cause they're in a good condition.
Also you don't need to use any kind of glue.

'86 to '96 Dodge Dakota. I don't think they are as thick as the S-10. I got some nice ones from the local salvage yard for 8 bucks. All you need to get them are a small hammer, Phillips screw driver, and a small prybar. There is a small connector that slides inside at the joint, be sure and get that too. They are really easy to install.
