Re: ojoe's crewcab shortbed build

Did you notch the frame due to the fact that you are going lower, or is it nessary because of the axel flip? When I build my truck I want it at about the height that yours is now. I am figuring on just the axel flip and wondering if I'll have to notch the frame or not. It's not practical in the northeast where I live to go any lower with a truck that is a daily driver. The roads here SUCK!

the old bed was rust free but did have small damage on the right side. also has 2 5th wheel rails mounted in the bed (extra holes). this is a real nice bed and already had it.

What do you need done to the ECM. My brother can possibly program it for you. He does this for the STS setups we sell..

Re: ojoe's crewcab shortbed build

Sweet! When did you pick that up? I'm going with Speartech for my harness. I've looked around a lot and they seem to have the best combination of price and customer service. I'm having them do some special mods for the Suburban and they seem eager to do what you want.

Question, why no AC? Are you going with the throttle by wire or are you going to switch to a cable. Speartech can do it either way.

hey rod, i think i am going with the throttle by wire. what are you going to use for cruise control.
this is a long story about the engine. long story short, the man i got the engine from died in the middle of our trade and i still have not got all of the things we traded on but i have been able to contact his son and i may be able to get the rest. i still have the engine and trans that i owe him.

If you use the throttle by wire, Speartech can pull the wire for the cruise control, you just have to let them know when you order the harness.

we used motormount plates from edelbroc , then bolted factory stuff from the truck to the 5.3 and it bolted right in like it was made for it , and the trans crossmember will need to be moved back depending on which transmission you using.
