NEW Polished Diff Covers Pitted

Bought polished aluminum diff covers for the 14 bolt and 60 - showed up today and I am dissapointed in the quality of the polishing. They aren't horrible but when looking at them up close you can see very small pitting. Is anyone running these covers?? I feel since I ordered them from Summit for $85 I might have got factory seconds instead of spending the $122 from 4 wheel parts Wholesale???

Should I try and finish polishing them? If so how?

Re: NEW Polished Diff Covers Pitted

Not yet but was considering it. I was going to look in person at the covers @ the Waterloo, Il swapmeet this Sunday. Usually good turn out of stuff with reasonable prices. I like to see what I am paying for.

Re: NEW Polished Diff Covers Pitted

I agree with what you are saying, but If I return them and purchase the more expensive covers from 4 Wheel Parts Wholesale will I end up with the same product for more $$$. The covers are identical, just dont know about the finish qaulity.

I will talk to Summit sometime this morning, jsut wondering if anyone has the same covers and have inspected them closely.
