1964 swapping to discs

I'm obtaining parts for a disc brake upgrade on a 64 & was wondering what the 'standard' was for the master cyl & booster combo?

What manufacturers have you guys used for the smaller booster set-ups vs. the large diameter OE later model units?

Any one aftermarket company the 1st choice w/their set-up?

I usually piece mine together using wrecking yard and parts store parts using a bracket I make.

I used an original booster, a '71 master, and a mid '80's proportioning valve
I need to re-do the lines, they were on it when we got it

if you can find an original booster and bracket, your local parts store should carry a rebuilt booster.
I got ours from autozone for somewhere around $100

We have no original 'bracket' thus why I'm researching options to what's available w/a smaller booster that doesn't require the large 'pivot' style bracket.

I've seen some pics from various threads of trucks w/smaller diameter boosters on them. I was trying to get a feel for the most common place to obtain a set-up like described that is hassle free (performance & purchase wise).

just throwing it out there
i have seen the brackets on ebay and a couple other Chevy forums fairly cheap. plus it is factory parts if you ever need a replacement

I do like the replacement parts philosophy. I know I've seen various combos out there (ex: Fiero power booster w/a Vette disc/drum master).

I'm just trying to figure out if there's a company that already makes something similar to what I'm hoping to install w/o having to buy an entire line of aftermarket products. This simplifies having to figure all the pedal ratios, travel, etc . . ...

Hmmm.... So the factory booster bracket really does pivot then, it looks like? Never looked into them much. From the pic, it looks like it moves the booster closer to the fender. This could be well worth the time tracking one down for us GMC guys with the dual MC for clutch and brake.
I snagged an 85 C20 MC and an 89 Suburb. booster and master, as well as the 85 C20 clutch slave and master w/remote reservoir. The slave will require some fab work to rearrange the mounting to work on my old bell. I have an entire 89 Suburban crossmember and PS box for the disc brake swap. Didn't mind the 62's torsion bars at all, the adjustability is cool, but $260 for a front end rebuild kit vs $1100 for a rebuild kit was the deciding factor. The adjustability and the solid bushings on the 62 stuff was pretty cool, actually, but if I ever broke a torsion bar... good luck!
back to brakes, with a big block GMC 60 degree V6, the larger '89 booster is darn close to the valve cover.

I bought mine from CPP ten years ago. My buddy used one off of a 88-98 chev pickup.

Just make your own with some angle iron or heavy gauge sheetmetal, if you've got a mig. The factory pivot bracket is a different story, however...

I think he just did some light fab. Maybe a plate and bolted it right up. I have used bone yard stuff in the past and it is very easy to adapt.

If I knew what was needed 100%, I might consider fabbing brackets. But, I'm not real sure & I don't have a truck w/an OE pwr brake bracket to compare with.

I'm in that stage of life where it must look engineered vs. "it'll do". There's no sence re-inventing the wheel here if something out there will bolt in w/o much fuss & works. I just have to keep researching & ask the right question to the right person.

here is a booster on ebay with the vertical brackets, just need it and a '71-'72 master
