Wink 58 apache for 900$

Seen this on cl and think this would make a killer rat rod. I won't be purchasing it tho. I don't know anything other than the ad states. Just figured being you don't ever see these you all deserve to know about it.

Re: 58 apache for 900$

Why screw it up making a rat rod out of it? That looks like a better base for a decent truck project than many guys on here start with and with that bull bar the nose is probably pretty decent. For 900 bucks a guy could jump through a circus hoop or two to get a title.

48 Chev 3100 that will run a 292 Six.
71 GMC 2500 that is getting a Cad 500 transplant.
77 C 30 dualie, 454, 4 speed with a 10 foot flatbed and hoist. It does the heavy work and hauls the projects around.

Re: 58 apache for 900$

I guess I just mean I love the patina and would leave it be, but I would definitely drop at least a 350/350 combo. The nose is killer I wouldn't change it, the tailgate looks amazing too. New seat , wiring , brakes, rubber. I just refer the original patina to the ratrod look. It's whatever tho, jmo

Re: 58 apache for 900$

That isn't "patina, that's frigging rust which destroys old trucks. I saw a nice old AD truck with real patina today. Time worn paint that was faded out but no rust anywhere and no dents or signs of abuse. And me with no camera in the car.

I will be glad when this nonsense of rust being a finish on a vehicle runs it's course but I hope it is before all of the "Patina" rigs rust off their frames and people start taking care of their rides.

Some people drive their rides more often than once every six months. You can keep your super high dollar paint scheme between you and your tiny prick having sonic meet butt buddies. Some guys just starting out or deep into the game, enjoy a cheap ride they can fix up and actually drive. You just keep paying someone to chop the top.

Pretty sure Mr48 drives his more than once every six months....and you can make your point without the profanity. I'm no prude, but you never know who is reading the threads.

Maybe rust destroys old trucks but the crusher was going to destroy my '55 GMC. Got it in '09 for a trade near scrap value and the wife and I have been driving it dang near daily since 2011. We only had the money to get it running well, stopping well and driving nice. Out of all the compliments we get (which is a lot) probably 95% say "leave it looking just like that!" Well it won't and although changes will be slow, we are driving it! I call it a pos ranch truck look. Never heard anyone call it patina but it may be in some folks eyes.

Anyway I would roll in that truck Familyfast64 posted any time just like it looks with the same scenario as our '55 GMC. That grill guard would look great on my truck! I hope someone gets it and nurses it back to health, rusty or not.

Thanks dac, nice truck. I know many people are into that look. There's nothing wrong with having either or both styles. It's called hot rodding right? Never thought it'd get bashed on a forum dedicated to bringing life to Old Trucks!
And sorry I was rude,

Re: 58 apache for 900$

you weren't being bashed; some people have opinions and voice them strongly
as you voiced your strong opinion about nice paint and the manhood associated with nice paint
some truck owners here hot rodded their trucks, but an equal amount here have stock trucks

for the record: truk has nice paint and 20,000 miles on it over the past 4 years
you'll have to ask my wife about my manhood
