factory tach
I'm putting in a factory tach in my nontach cluster and I have an old cluster with a tach in it. Is there a wiring harness used for that or do i just have to wire it myself?

Ok, to answer your basic question...there is a (simple) tach wiring harness for the tach. However, it is not overly difficult to reproduce. Basically you need 1 wire to go from the signal terminal on the tach to the - (negative) on the distributor. Then you need one to go from the other terminal on the tach to a main power (+) in the fuse box. Then the whole thing needs a good ground.
That said....do you have just the tachometer head? or do you have the whole needed and required 'kit' for the factory tach? The 'kit' should include the tach based inner and outer gauge plates (to replace the original ones), the new 'tach' based lens and the larger printed circuit. any more info on what you have? Coley

I have the printed circuit on the other cluster that i have which has the factory tach in it so it should be able to use the circuit board, the tach, and all the guts out the old one I have and use that one right? The reason I'm not using the tached cluster is the front of the cluster doesn't look to good

Tom is reproducing the tach harness for points or HEI and in custom lengths too.
