I'm looking to update my 1 ton flatbed. I need a 73 to 82 dually rear end with 3:73 ratio with low miles LOL.
Since shipping is out of the question I need to find one in western washington.

There is a whole crew cab dually for sale near my house. I think (I can check for sure if your interested) they want $2500 for it. It is usually at the park-n-ride at the 160th street exit (#22) off I-405. Probably more than you need though...

bouncytruck thanks for the offer. I only need the rearend. The pinioin bearings are going south. The local shops want $850.00
just to put in new bearings and another $250.00 for a 3:73 ratio ring and pinion gears.
I need to get this done by this weekend.
I wish I had all of the tools to do it myself.

Which rear do you currently have? Eaton/Corporate?
A cheap and quick fix would be to swap in a complete 4:10 center chunk. Not the 3:73 you wanted, but pretty close.
One of the members was selling one last week, I think it was $40 plus shipping from the east coast?

Just an idea, if nothing else, it could buy you some time to shop around for the rear end you really want...

You must not have one of our trucks, but this may work. I have a nice complete Dana 60 dually rearend for 72 & older. I don't know if the spring widths are the same. This is a 3:54...very close to your 3:73. It was running behind a 350 w/AT.

PICKMUP, I'm considering putting in a later model dually rear end under my 68 1 ton flatbed. I currently have 5.14 gear ratio. I was looking for a more compatibile hiway gear.
So is your rearend setup for dual wheels?

This is/was bolted in a 69 Chev one ton chassis...so most brackets should be correct and ready to go: shock mounts, spring pads, e=brake cables, brake line/hose. No fab work! Rearend is $400 complete drum-to-drum and I have a new set of springs for $100 (cost over $400). Add a little tax for the Washington kitty.

And while I am at it...Six 16" wheels with legal radial tires for $150 (normally $200)....and good running 350 eng...and TH400 trans...and...OK, I better stop now.
