Anyone Installed 3 Point Belts in a '60?

Closing in on having everything complete and these belts are getting the best of me. According to the manufacturer the belts are supposed to be installed as shown in the picture with the flat side of the spool toward the exterior and the bend in the bracket at the other end toward the interior. Using the table as the exterior they are laid out correctly but the belts cross each other. Every shoulder belt I have ever laid eyes on have the belts installed parallel and nothing crosses. For anyone who has installed them, do they cross?

My other question is with the mounting of the spool on the drivers side. In Lugnutz65 write up, the flat spot on the drivers side is used. On my '60 there is a grommet and wiring harness in that space with a cover. This one is not as big of a deal. I can figure something out but am just wondering what others with this configuration have done.

If you have installed these in a '60 let me know what I am doing wrong before I go completely insane. Thanks.

Just like SkinnyG, I have it installed too,
only I used the included hardware kit,

I used 3-point belts from an OBS in my '60. Took everything from the donor vehicle. Not a great photo but kinda shows them in place.

I believe the original post is specifically requesting what to do with the bottom mount driver's side.

Re: Anyone Installed 3 Point Belts in a '60?

I have pictures of the underbody, the existing hole in the repair sheet has been closed, my plug is in the fire wall on my '62.

Re: Anyone Installed 3 Point Belts in a '60?

Sorry I didn't get back to this earlier after asking a bunch of questions. Thanks for all of the pictures and advice. They are installed and according to the manufacturer are correct. I am still not sure that it makes sense as they do pull across one another when not in use but seem to function properly when used. Thanks again for all of the help. Hopefully today will be finishing the front disc brake conversion and I will be on the road again.
