Here's a pic of the crossover steering from off road unlimited. The axle is a Dana 44 with a detroit truetrac and 5:13 gears. I'm sorry if I made anybody mad for hacking up a perfect 72 3/4 ton 4x4 frame. Jobs like this you just have to do those things. Oh and by the way that's not the front fender I'm using. That babies full of cancer. Feel free to ask any questions about the truck. I would tell you about everything but I've got so many goodies on it or going on it that it would take all day to tell you. :p

It's 13" of lift altogether. The tires are 39.5" boggers on 16.5x14 weld stone crusher's. The axle's have 5:13 gears with a detroit locker in the back and a detroit truetrac in the front. It's got a DVD navagational system so I can't get lost. 7" screen in the headunit and two 7" screens built into the headrest for my buddies in the back. Playstation II and a overhead temp/compass like in all of the new vehicle's. There's alot more but I just can't think of it all right now. I'll get some more recent pics of it on here as soon as I can.

Randy I saw you the other day going down the road. I can't say how much I love that truck. I didn't know that it used to be my uncle rick's truck before it looked that good. I'm trying to get mine done so that we have another truck to add to Missouri's top 67-72 list. I think Missouri ranks up there pretty high with some of the nicest trucks around. Thanks for the reply guys.

That will be a sweet truck when you get it done. One thing I have to ask is why did you use a D44?? Don't think it will last too long if you have a healthy motor and those tires. Need to get one of these....

That's a good point and I thought of that. The motor I've got is a 383 full roller putting out 527HP and 543 pounds of torque on the dyno. That's before the 150HP shot of nitrous. So yes a bigger front axle was something I thought about. But on the other hand I wanted to use as much of the original drivetrain as I could. So what I did was kept that Dana44 and put the best of everything in it. It's got a detroit truetrac, precision gears, ox u-joints and moser axles. If that doesn't work then I'll for sure put in a bigger axle. The guy from moser told me that the axle's they have are actually stronger than Dana60 axle's because of the higher quality steel. Plus I got the new 35 spline axle's so I'm sure it'll be pretty stout. I put alot of thought into this subject. Thanks for the concern and I'll let you know in the future what happens.

4bynut, I'll get some pics as soon as I can. I'm almost done with all of the sheetmetal work in the cab so before I post pics of the inside I'd like to get that done. It shouldn't be to long. What you seen done in the picture at the top is about 2 months worth of work if that so it's going pretty fast. I'll get you some pics as soon as I can.

Yep your Dad has been into these trucks longer than most of the guys are on this board are old. I think I have a hood down in my garage that came from him. Another old friend that isnt with us any longer that I used to visit all the time is B Hoffman. Cant mention what we used to sit around doing on Sunday mornings......

Yeah Randy, Billy's a guy that people will never forget. He was a unique guy who you couldn't help but love. It's a good thing my dad loves these trucks so much otherwise I wouldn't have a junkyard full of them to just pic and choose from. It takes a couple three trucks just to make the extended cab. I still have my 71 black lowrider to. I don't know if you remember that one. When we get this extended cab done I'd like to bring it to your house and take some pics of both of them together if that's alright. Mcmlxix I'll get some pics for ya of the windows. Here's a little bit of smoke for Billy if ya know what I mean.

stomper---needless to say--very awesome work-also thanks for posting the spec's on the dana 44 front axle and your right it is stronger then a dana 60-with every else you got in it, i run the same thing but with a arb locker...

also i thank you for keeping it a long bed--instead of going short-and what frame did you start with.....keep up the amazing work-it surpasses all alaskan truck buildups i have seen. and thats saying a mouthfull....
