TH400 Kickdown Info Needed

On my 74, 454-TH400 the PO removed the passing gear mechanism, control, "thingy" from the engine when swapping carbs. For the life of me I can't figure out what it's called, which makes it difficult to search for the part. Every search takes me to either the trans solenoid or to aftermarket kits for hot-rods.

I have a red or orange wire on the driver's side of the transmission but nothing near the firewall or on the intake. Kind of hard to search for the missing part(s) when I don't know what they are actually called.

Can someone post the official name of what I'm looking for so I'll know what I need to get?

A junk yard has an 81 C10 with a small block. There's a mount on the back of the intake with linkage that is connected to the throttle shaft, but from what I think I remember, the kickdown for the 350 and TH400 are different. Is that correct?

Thanks.

i dont know early trucks like your 74 but the later stuff used a switch on the gas pedal inside the cab . the bracket was part of the gas pedal 3 bolt mount to the firewall .

random internet pic i found of it .

Well that might explain why I don't see anything at the back of the motor.

I'll dive under the dash and look. The last TH400 that I had was 30 years ago and I clearly don't remember enough. Thanks.
