69-72 hood - terrific shape! Attention patina folks this is a good one!

Probably one of, if not the best shape hood I've seen for this year range.

I shined up one spot on the hood to show what it could look like with a bit of work. Some surface rust under front edge - but only that, surface rust.

One small divot shown in pictures circled with chalk. Otherwise I don't see anything else but a few spots with paint nicked or scratched - also shown in pictures.

I live in Columbia, MO - half way between St. Louis and Kansas City on I-70 interstate and would prefer to have you pick it up at my house.

Asking $150.00 for the hood. Look the pictures over carefully and I think you will agree it is worth it.

Thanks for your consideration, Jay

You wouldn't happen to have a passenger side fender in that color would you. Thanks.

I have one that is two tone with white, but the cup is shot - so it would be difficult to keep the "original" theme if that is what you are after. Jay

May be correct - IDK as I've not done a patina truck or know someone that has. Just wanted to show how good of shape it was in. Sorry if I screwed it up for someone, but still a darn nice and solid hood don't you think?? Jay

That's not patina...that's oxidation. You proved how nice the paint is, and how easily it can be brought back. Great price!

Dang, I could have used that hood if it was a 71-72 without the emblem. Do you happen to have the green cowl off that truck?

Thanks. That's definately what I had in mind. Nice hood btw. What product or method did you use to get that spot cleaned up with?

I used some Meguire's (sp?) I have had for a while. It was a three step / three bottles system. One removes the oxidation, second cleans it up some more, and the third is a polish. Really didn't have to work on it that hard. Jay

Sorry, I don't have the cowl - do have rest of front clip though with pretty nice driver's side fender in green and white two tone combo. Jay

OK, if not for your truck - what about a wall hanging in your 'man cave'?

Ken - If I hadn't just had an Awfulexperience with Greyhound I would be glad to ship the hood to you. I sent a fender to N.C. and it took a month and during the month no one could tell me where it was! That is the short story - sometime when you have a half a day I can tell you the whole sad tale.

Is there any other transit possibilities you would like me to check on pricing? I guess the reason you are interested in Greyhound is the cost factor? I suppose I could send it that way, but you would have to be ready to wait and wait for arrival. They only put shipments on when there is room and in the summer time there is a very, very, high ridership - thus no space to haul shipment because of luggage for riders.

Please let me know what you would like to do and I will try my best to do it. Thanks, Jay

I've used Greyhound dozens on dozens of times for decades and never had an issue. I guess any shipper can have a bad deal. I had a simple package not show up from USPS. Months had gone by and I had long since figured I got ripped off. Then, one day it showed up looking fresh as a daisy

I have had good luck with Greyhound as well for every other time before. However this experience was the worst. I would chalk it up to just the law of averages if the worker at Greyhound hadn't told me that ever since July of this year they couldn't even tell their passengers the correct time to arrive for their bus to load. He said that there was a "Management switch" and after that things were chaotic.
I will be glad to send the hood by Greyhound - it sounds like you understand going in what to expect. Send the money and I will get it ready and send it. Thanks, Jay

I will weigh it and estimate the shipping to give you a quote on sending it Greyhound before end of the day (9/10/15). Jay

Re: 69-72 hood - terrific shape! Attention patina folks this is a good one!

I weighed the hood at 70 lbs. and figured from Columbia, MO to Concord, NH in the Greyhound package express calculator and the figure they came up with was $115.00 to ship the hood to you. I looked on Google maps and found Newbury, NH which is listed in as your location and it seemed that Concord, NH Greyhound station most likely was the closest to you. Let me know what to expect - I have a person who says they are coming by my house this weekend and is interested in the hood. I will need to know if you are taking it and sending the money so I can tell him it is already sold OR, if you aren't interested please say so as I don't want to miss out selling it to someone else if you are going to pass. Not intended as pressure - just the honest truth. Jay

Better build a crate to ship that thing in. I will never again buy a sheet metal part that isn't shipped in a legit wooden crate.

Best of luck to ya though and it is a great hood.
