C10 Values

Hey all, just wanted some other opinions before I go in on my first project. I’ve got my eyes on a 67 small window, LWB, 283ci with a 4spd. 69k original miles and no rust. All original but non running, he’s asking $4k for it and I’m not sure I'm able to cough up that much. Let me know what you think? how much would a clear coat patina, good running long bed go for? Not planning on doing anything crazy, just making it nice and solid.

Thanks

Re: C10 Values

Without pictures its impossible to say. But 4K doesnt sound out of line. As far as the miles being original the odometer on these trucks roll over at 100K and it would be pretty rare for an over 50 year old vehicle to have 69K, not unheard of, just rare.

Re: C10 Values

with out pics hard to say. I got a 67 c10 close to your description but with a 71 350ci for 2K. I wouldn't start a project on that high of price. it adds up quick!

Re: C10 Values

If a rust free 67 C10 small window was for sale in MN at $4000 it would be gone in a minute. I paid $3500 for my 68 rust free CA long box 4 years ago and thought I got a real fair deal. No rust repair is huge.

Re: C10 Values

Pics would tell a bit more if it's worth it. But I will say, even in a non-running state, if the truck is rust free (or very close to it), and has zero to minimal body damage, then 4k is a pretty good number.

It's easy and fairly inexpensive to fix mechanical issues, but body work will soak up a lot of cash. Buying a $500 beat up rust bucket is not cost efficient if you don't plan on leaving it as is.

It's well worth the price. Mechanicles are easy unless your a body man the body work gets expensive

Re: C10 Values

I like it!

I have no idea what a decent price would be, but judging from some of the rusted out basket cases advertised that are going for $$$ I would get it.

Re: C10 Values

If the engine is repairable - well worth $4K. If it's a future boat anchor (seized or rod thru the block), then I think you have some negotiating wiggle room you can take advantage of... Body appears solid, so a great project candidate.

Re: C10 Values

But that truck! It’s easily worth 4K in my opinion. The less rust there is the sooner you’ll be able to focus on other parts of the truck! They are getting hard to fine with little rot.
