k30 ebay

There are a few things on this truck that I have questions about. That is the thing right behind the steering box. Why would you run you shocks like that? Don't they work better in a v, if you are going to run dual shocks? Btw I am not considering buying this truck just wondered about it. http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/1985-...em190196991332

Re: k30 ebay

You would do that when you are bored, have some extra scrap iron laying around, and want to mess up what could have been a nice truck. Like many other things in life I believe this truck has been a victim of "can we do this" instead of "SHOULD we do this"

I would have at least washed the grease off the frame before taking those pictures!

Re: k30 ebay

I did not notice the blocks under the front lol. Body looks like it needs to be taken to bare metal in some spots, and he trashed perfectly good fenders and bed.

It probably won't, unless you disamntle it, then it could get scary. I for
one would never run blocks up front, but hey that's just my $.02, cya

The "Thing behind the steering box" you are asking about was the original brake line bracket, it looks he has run the brake lines under the frame for added length. And for the dual shocks those are 100% factory, this was an option that started I believe in the early to mid 80s.

As far as the truck goes...That was a Super! nice truck at one time..although not all that rare it did come nicely equipped.

Re: k30 ebay

There is another bracket behind the steering box that looks to be a track bar mount that was added because of the crossover steering.

I don't understand the use of the word "Show" in the description. Must be a different kind of show than what I am used to seeing. If you like it and have the dough, snatch it up. Good luck with the bid.

I think yall talkin about two different brackets. There is the old brake line bracket on the vertical part and a welded on bracket on the horizontal part which seems to be the track bar mount.

Re: k30 ebay

Axle wrap. I believe those "lift blocks" where pretty common at one time. They are made for traction, pinned, and connected to the rear of the spring. You can see the rear end of it on the driver side pic. The other bracket I have no idea.

Those "lift blocks" extend about 18 inches to the rear of the spring where they are attached. They are tapered. I have looked and looked today and I can't find anyone selling them anymore.

Nice catch. Ive seen those before and take a lickin. I think they are perfectly safe, obviously if set up correct. There is no way they are going to spit out on the ones ive seen. Quite a bit different than just a regular block.
