fastest way to remove bed bolts?
What did you do to remove the bed bolts? I've heard tighting with an impact till they break works but I'm not sure if my impact is powerful enough. anyways how did you remove them?

I wire brushed mine down then sprayed with penetrating oil, and moved my way around the truck doing to each bolt.
Then I put a cinder block over each bolt head, and used my impact. They all came off easily on both my project trucks. |

My bed bolts just wanted to spin when I was trying to remove them, even when I did have them sprayed with PB Blaster. What I ended up doing was having to place a small tack weld on each bolt head to hold it in place, and used a 2 foot ratchet breaker bar to spin them off. Once the nuts were off I used a grinder wheel to cut the tack and then removed the bolt. Worked well and you would never be able to tell that's what I did. Not necessarily "the fastest way" but definitely took care of the frozen bolts.

The fastest way is to use a Victor heat wrench.
Cutting torch is amazingly quick ............

I agree with the torch . Mine were so bad they spun too.. I was scrapping the bed so I cut the heads up with a grinder and poked them through

Didn't realize this was an issue, hopefully a Georgia truck doesn't have the same problem, guess I'll find out when the time comes...

When I put mine back together I uses 1/2x4 Allen bolts.
Now my brake caliper socket and 3/4 wrench. Made life easier

I carefully used a grinder to hack up the bolt heads, I got a couple of the bolts out and the rest spun. Replaced them with hex head bolts from Tractor Supply, the rubber bed mat cover them just fine.
