Cab Mount Holes

Well, the cab in my 47 (2) was TOAST - and parts were missing due to rust. Long story short, I found a different cab. It has been repaired but, whoever did it, replaced the entire floor - and left no reference points to find the cab front mounts. I'm not sure if the rear ones are there, either. I need some measurements from SOMEWHERE to know where to drill for the mounts. My only other option is to put the front end together, and mount everything up. I COULD do that, but then I'd need it all taken apart again. Any help would be GREATLY appreciated!

Re: Cab Mount Holes

So....that's 5" from the floor/firewall corner, and 2 1/2" from the side, right?

Re: Cab Mount Holes

Rear mount for a 47 is going to be a single one in the middle.

Front holes are 3-1/2 inches in from the kick panels measured from up high enough on the kick panel and two inches in front of the back edge of the door posts..

I laid a piece of flat bar across the back side of the door posts to get the two inch measurement and measured from just below the stamped line you see on he kick panel to get the correct 3-1/2 inches in.

The red dot is the center of the bolt hole the blue line is 2 inches in front of the straight edge and the yellow line on the floor is 3-1/2 inches straight out with the ruler level from the side where the other yellow mark is.

Re: Cab Mount Holes

Under the back of the floor on your cab there should be a cross piece that the center mount bolts to running across the bottom side of the floor where I drew the lines for someone else years ago.

This shows you the correct clearance between the floor and the frame at the front

This is a better look at the measurements

This is for 49 and up shackles that bolt to the side of the frame but it does give the measurement between the frame and the bottom of the floor at the rear at .78.

You may end up creating new mounts for the rear though

Re: Cab Mount Holes

Ok, Thanks! I WILL need to make new rear mounts (I have the "shackle" mounts on the shelf), but not gotten that far yet. Had to know where the front sits before I can go much further....
