Re: Aftermarket grilles!

I got mine from LMC i think it was in the $180 range. Looks very nice, but the bars are a little too close and your fingers dont fit in there to open the hood. Every now and then i have to go back and bend them back together. No biggie.

724x4a/cchevy: Most of the billet grilles available aftermarket now come with a hood release extension that lowers point of release to just behind the front bumper making opening of the hood a lot easier. Cb

Yeah, you can make your own with 1/4 " round bar if you don't have one.

Re: Aftermarket grilles!

I wish someone would craft a custom grille for the '69-70's (it would fit 71-2's) that was complimentary of the original design, but also incorporated some of the styling of the newer (99-up) design. I have an idea, but if you don't have the ability to imagine what I mean, you wouldn't like it. I'm perfectly happy with my original grille, but I'd just like to see what a good designer (Carter Hickman, for example) would do with it. Some of his artwork is spot-on in that way, but I'd just like to see something that could be reproduced and not be off the affordability chart.

Here's one he did for Porterbuilt. It is a combination of '67-8, with some heavy 69-70 flavor and a touch of 99-00 SS.
