Armrest/Door Pull

I'm trying to figure out what armrest with door pull to use on my 54. How about some pics of your setups and what they came off of.

Re: Armrest/Door Pull

I'm going to have to tag along on this one and see what they come up with. Years ago I stashed some back but they don't fit my build plan at all now.

Re: Armrest/Door Pull

I started with a stack of 2x6 and ground off everything that did not look like a armrest. The wood looked too '70s van so I used it as a buck to make two out of sheetmetal.
In this picture it is not painted and there is no padding/upholstery on it.
I made it tall enough to put it where I want to rest my arm driving and still use the factory holes. My Sierra seats are roughly same seat height as factory bench but the top of this armrest looks higher than the factory option one.
Also flipped the inner remote latch over ala '49 so it would not interfere.

Can't say I'm in love with the look, but I won't change it until it has some miles on it and I can judge the form/comfort.

lets see some more

Re: Armrest/Door Pull

these were left over from a 1967 Pontiac Tempest. They were chromed plastic that went yellow, so I painted them and covered them in vinyl.

they work for me.

Re: Armrest/Door Pull

There was build on this site where someone used some armrest off of 50's Chevy car. They worked with little modification if I recall correctly.

https://www.classicchevy.com/chevy-a...-252384-1.html

They look like they belong but with a modern twist.

When I saw them I was like crap, I wish I had see that sooner.

Re: Armrest/Door Pull

I am using 57 Chevy passenger car arm rests. I had them installed but now have the truck fully disassembled as I progress through my build. No pictures, sorry
