flowsound mufflers

anybody ever use these
do they sound like flowmasters
i cant find any videos of the single chamber mufflers but the 2 chamber mufflers do sound like flowmasters

I had one on my dodge ram truck and it sound close to the flowmaster but without so much drone to it. I think it actually sounded better after about a yr or so. It really doesnt have that tinggy sound that flows do I say go for it. I would by again.BTW I had a single in duel out.

yea those single inlet dual outlet seem to ting pretty bad
i think i just sold my flowmasters so ill get some of these on the way

If you're looking for an inexpensive alternative to Flowmasters, take a look at the Thrush welded mufflers. There are quite a few vids on YouTube with them.....I kinda like them. They're only $30 at Summit.

I have a 2 chamber on a 92 4.3 s10 and i get nothing but compliments on the way the truck sounds. i forget where i found the chart but they also outflow a flow master. So i suggest going with them.

I have a welded thrush on my hemi ram and it sounds ok but nothing like the flowsound on my old truck.

The comparisons to the different brands multi chamber designs aren't really the same. Flow sound, Flow Monster (another ebay/off brand), Flow Master, and Cherry Bomb Extremes are all the EXACT same thing. V-plate single chambers. Go for the best price in single chambers. They will sound the same.

I never tried them--those flow sounds, but i installed a set od the welded Thrushes on my friends Hemi Roadrunner with a full 2.5" system. God damn thing sounds like a good old fashioned muscle car idleing and a freakin prostocker when your on it---ok, maybe i am exagerating a little. But the bottom line is i was WAAYYY impressed with them and they sound good . Of course being a 474 cu in hemi doesn't hurt.

Like i said, being a big inch Hemi didnt hurt the sound and that motor has some pop to it and a nasty camshaft, It has a full 2.5 dual system with an H-pipe. Its a grocery getter.

But i am debating between the Thrush or Flowsound. I like true Flowmasters also, but they are WAY overpriced. And anything that is basically a turbo style or chambered style muffler seems to flow about the same---which is no where decent compared to something like more of a racing muffler---but i dont need to get that last tenth at the track, and my system is probably going to be a little restrictive for a 454, but i dont want loud, i like my radio, LOL.

Ive always believed the engine is more important that the muffler itself... I took two chamber flowmasters off of my 10:1 406 that were ear splitting loud. I gave them to a friend with a stock 454 and was almost quiet and made that flowmwater note..

If you don't want loud then Magnaflow, Dynomax Ultra Flo's, or Pypes Race pro mufflers are the way to go. Single chambers are about your worst choice possible. They aforementioned mufflers are straight through with a perforated core, not restrictive louvered core like some glass packs. They are actually really quiet at idle and cruising around due to the volume of packing. Then at higher throttle levels they get progressively louder. Pretty loud at full tilt. All sorts of different sizes of these mufflers, some are just as quiet as a stocker when installed on a single exhaust late model yet they are still straight through. Borla's are the same thing, but with slightly different packing materials and cores. Some (like the loud ass xr-1's) have baffles in the core. They almost always sound better but cost more.

well the 2 chamber flowmaster race mufflers i have now are too quiet so thats why i want to go with the single chamber flowsounds

oh, oops. That was someone else that said they want it quiet. But like I said in my first post, all the single chambers are the same pretty much and pick based on price. It will be very loud
