Foose and Gas Monkey SEMA trucks

Couple of interesting videos. You've probably seen the Foose C/28 before, but I had not seen Richard Rawlings' recently completed GMC. Sharing in case anyone else may be interested. Really like the Foose truck - especially the bone stock engine. Just needs some C/10 emblems, that's all (JUST kidding, beautiful truck). I gotta get to SEMA someday..

Foose 67 Chev

Gas Monkey 68 GMC

Rawlings... "Pretty much the same thing" when talking about Chevy vs GMC.

I had to chuckle.

Respecting both builds, I like Foose's better.

Re: Foose and Gas Monkey SEMA trucks

Thanks for posting. Love both of them but I've always liked the Foose builds because most of them are timeless. If you tucked that 67 C/28 away for 20 years it would still be just as cool and nice a build in 2043 as it is today.

Like the colors on the Rawlings build but I'm just not into the slammed trucks. Appreciate the time, money, and effort it takes to build it though. Total eye candy for sure.

Thanks for sharing! I enjoyed watching them, especially Foose. That is one person I would love to meet someday. My buddy has a couple times!

Agree.

Enjoyed the Foose interview, too.

You gotta respect the talent but - conceptually - he's not doing anything much different than we do here. "C/28"? Cool concept, based on the Z/28 motor. Getting a new SPID made with the updated content? How many times have we seen that on this forum -

^^^ Yep, Chip did it right. Went with an 'as factory' theme on a truck that is supreme 'as factory'. Just took it where GM could have but didn't. His ideas are in GM's box on this one and there's just nothing better. That's how I like 'em

Re: Foose and Gas Monkey SEMA trucks

I like chips truck. I bet some 67 z/28 owner who doesn’t have his/her original motor or a dz motor for that matter would want that one out of the truck.

Re: Foose and Gas Monkey SEMA trucks

Was hoping to see RS headlamp covers on Chip's C/28. He did an '80's El Camino with '67 Camaro sheetmetal that I really like:

The only thing that threw me was he mentioned he put a Hotchkiss performance suspension on the truck. For as much time and work as he spent making it something GM would have potentially sold, that would have made me scratch my head.

Re: Foose and Gas Monkey SEMA trucks

A more loyal build ala Foose would use 16's rear (Dragsters had them) 15 fronts. Step the rails a tad on both ends & use more OEM parts. But SEMA demands ($) aftermarket catalog builds. Stepping A-arms/crossmember notching/ect. Staying away from over used YENKO like stripes and keeping the look subdued.

They both blew it! Over tooled, too much for my beady brain to look at. All they needed is a K... with a CB antenna. Done, easy money! Joking of course!

Beautiful work from both shops! Thanks for posting.
