Weekend SCORE!!!!

Hey all!!! It looks like I will have 2 trucks now! I bought a '70 or '71 C-50 dump truck from a friend's dad. A big truck! Its got a 292 six, 4 speed tranny, and a 2 speed rear end. It is a little rough here and there, but it is a running truck.

Okay, here are a few:

It looks like someone did'nt want to pull the fender to get at the hinge bolts for that door.

I wish the SPID label was in better shape:

What do you think? It is in running shape and I only gave him $900 for it.

Re: Weekend SCORE!!!!

$900 for a running C-50 dump truck is a good deal.

Enjoy driving it, it is a totally different feeling than driving a pickup.

Re: Weekend SCORE!!!!

I'd say if it runs on all 6 and the dump works, you did real good.Even if not and it can be fixed up,you still can make a lot of money with that sucker.

Re: Weekend SCORE!!!!

I remember a few years back, my dad and I drove my grandmas (given to my dad) dump truck across Kansas. I think it was a few years older (64-66ish), but it too had a straight 6 and 2 speed rear end. I think it had around 45,000 miles on it. It maxed out about 50.....made for a LONG trip.

Re: Weekend SCORE!!!!

Great truck.........I love mine.........looks like split rims......be carefull.
Also check into DOT rules in your area. You have now moved into the "commercial truck" zone unless you put farm use tags on it.
DOT inspections, heath cards, etc.

Also.....did I see 23,000 rear springs and 8,000 front springs....What doeoes the GVW tag say in the door frame? If its over 26,ooo thats a CDL truck.

I don't know what the GVW is, the driver's side door will not open. You have given me an idea with the farm tag thing though, I will look into that.

I have occassionally had need for something with more capacity than my 1/2 ton, plus it was offered to me at such a good price and matches my little truck, so why not?
