396 Turbo Jet
What do these badges go to? Do you think they would look strange on my truck?

Re: 396 Turbo Jet
I would guess they came off of a Chevelle,Impala or maybe a Camaro.I don't recall the style of the 396 emblems on these trucks. It's your truck, build it to suit you.

Re: 396 Turbo Jet
I think they would look good if you put them on valve covers or inside the cab like on the glovebox door or in the center somewhere. Maybe you could even put them on each top corner of the tailgate. I don't think they would look to well where the original ones go on the fender, but that's just my .02 cents.
As mentioned, it's your truck. Build it to suit you. If you do use them on your truck, it will defiantly be different. I do like them though. |

They would look strange of you have a six in your truck.

Re: 396 Turbo Jet
I would stick them under the side marker lights.

Re: 396 Turbo Jet
They are a common badge for all 396 67 Camaros, 65-67 396 (ss and non-ss) Impalas and Caprices, and 65-67 ss396 chevelles.
If your truck is a custom - go for it. If not, I'd stick with the stock '69 396 emblems, they just "look right" in my opinion. But, then again, that's just MY opinion, so that means about zero. Yours is what matters - if you like them, then go for it! I think under the side marker light might look best - 2nd choice would be under the fender side nameplate. And they are gorgeous emblems - had them on my 65. Last edited by jocko; 10-20-2012 at 10:41 PM. |
