Engine Color Choice vote
Help me decide on a color for my 383 build. Black or Chevy Orange. I will have red plug wires and aluminum intake and valve covers, black air cleaner with red K&N filter. My truck color is blue......

Re: Engine Color Choice vote
Black
It looks cleaner longer & I think it'd go good with those colors Plus it makes shiny stuff "pop" more |

Re: Engine Color Choice vote
IMO, it all depends on the look you are going for.
Since this isn't supposed to look original, we can throw the whole "It's supposed to be orange" crap out the window. If your truck is supposed to end up looking modern, sleek, or you are trying to tone down some utems under the hood so other things stand out better, then black is the way to go. If you are going for more of an old school look, or a modified stock look...then orange is the only way to go. |

Re: Engine Color Choice vote
don’t listen to the lies.....silver produces 22% more horsepower then anything else in the color spectrum And by the way black is not really a color....its the absence of color

Re: Engine Color Choice vote
What Andy said, though I personally lean toward orange (and voted accordingly). If the red plug wires look too odd, they can always be changed...

Re: Engine Color Choice vote
When it comes to cleaning my intake I would go with black if I had a time machine.
Why Black Blue truck Silver intake "most likely" Black air cleaner Chrome or black new style valve covers that have a bowtie on em It would help if someone had photo shop and try the color combos Just My Opion |

Re: Engine Color Choice vote
I personally voted orange cause it was the only option other than black.
If it were mine but, it's not. I really like matching the truck color. I am absolutly in love with the way black engines look but I will Never paint one black again. BAD expirences! Gloss black makes the engine look like it's covered in oil under aftificial light in low back lighting. Scares the S@*^ out of ya when ya first look at them this way. At least it did me BUT man, again they do look sharp. Still ORANGE RJ22
