Anyone have a spare cheapo or stock radio laying around??

Hey guys...my best friend just inherited an 86 silverado and its got no radio. Stock is fine, but its far from nice and he just wants some FM tunes.

I have a Pyramid Tape deck that was in my dash when I got the truck, fits in a stock 85 dash. I'll see if I can find it in the basement tomorrow morning, I didn't chuck it, so it should be down there somewhere.

Man I have the same problem, had no radio in the truck when I got it. I put one of those $29 Autozone units in it just to have SOMETHING, and the fact that it fills the empty hole in the dash is about it's only positive benefit. Other than that it BITES.

I thought I had a Pioneer tape/radio that I was saving for something like this, but I guess it must have been sold in a garage sale or something. If LOHRTBT and Destructo both come up with one and there's one left, I may be interested!

Dave, I have a Pioneer detachable face CD player that I will sell for cheap. Comes with box, instructions, and carrying case. It is about 7-8 years old but worked perfect when I pulled it from Shelly's Jeep (lease was up). PM me if he is interested. Looking to get $60 for it.

Hey thanks for the response guys, I will show him the link today and see what he wants to do. I imagine just a stock push button will work fine. But he may want to upgrade just a bit hehe.

Dave, let me know if nothing else works out, i have one, with harness, except i cut the harness fairly close to the plug, maybe a PITA to connect more wires to it. It is a removable face Blaupunkt, but half the face doesnt light up.....
