Re: Drag and Destroy rebuild

bags will be inside the frame over the axle. getting the brackets broke in the morning and hope to have them in by the afternoon. I build my own brackets, but have to have a shop break them due to lack of a press break.

Looking good KD! What type of axle is that? I'm having trouble identifying it.

Re: Drag and Destroy rebuild

I dont have any before shots, but a description is in order. factory trailing arms removed from factory location, run strait back parallel to each other and welded together with a piece of pipe. then a cross pipe welded from left rear to right front. u-bolts welded to the rearend with enough rod to build a spaceshuttle. it was welded so good, my 3 pound sledge had no trouble removing it. the lower bag mounts spent most of there life driving a water pump on a SBC. the shocks were welded to a piece of 3" channel under the c-notch. the trac bar was welded to the end of the right trailing arm and to the left side of the c-notch. again the 3 pounder had no trouble removeing the chicken s*** mess the were trusting enough to drive down the interstate. the drive shaft is nearly cut in half from rubbing on the x member, and theres a hole in it. here some pics of what I removed.

Re: Drag and Destroy rebuild

you thought I was kidding, didnt ya. she will be on her feet by the end of the week, then we finish the new electrical system, replumb the brakes and fuel system, install the fuel tank. lower the engine back to stock, and install the T5 trans. then I can pull the cab and replace EVERYTHING from the door handles down because of rust or a runaway sawzall. just wait till you guys see the interior. this truck should win rebuild of the year!
