292-valv job -questions ??

got a project coming up ,thought id pull the 292 head and put hard seats in/grind or replace valves -etc? any idea what it might run me ? i know differant area ,differant shops it all varies ? thanks mike

I spent $800 my 292's head. lol But that was for a bunch of mods to. I should say no more than a couple hundred...course, best thing you can do is call your local shop and have him quote you. Only thing you'll get around here is a million different answers. lol

Most 292 heads have hard seat inserts from the factory. They also have valve rotators on the exhaust valves. Often they have been exchanged with 250-230 heads.

unless you have an intake seat with a problem just replace the exhaust seats. anymore i prefer to just replace the valves - they are inexpensive these days
