Hi,
Two original folding jack handles were with my 72', one is longer then the other. Anyone know what the correct length jack handle is for a 2wd 1/2 ton SWB? Is that clip on the jack handle for the lug wrench to slide in?
I've got a spring bolted to the floor behind the seat, I would really appreciate it if anyone with an original set up could send me a picture of how the jack, handle and lug wrench are supposed to be stored behind the seat, I've never seen an original. Thank you, Libby

I don't have anything original enough to take pictures of but I think the jacking instruction sticker is available. It goes behind the seat on back of cab and it seems to me that it has stowage instructions on it.....

The spring on the floor holds the jack tight against the floor. The lug wrench and jack handle was kept inside a white foam sleeve and kept upright at the right end of the fuel tank also retained by a spring.

Thanks for responding, I appreciate all the help.
Does anybody have pictures of the "white foam sleve" for the crank and lug wrench? That must about as rare a part as any to find.
Does anyone have any creative ways to store these items, keeping in mind I'm going for a fairly original truck in the absence of the white foam sleve.

There was a guy on here awhile back making those sleeves, not sure
if you can use search to find it or not, I think is were out of leather?

A neighbor of ours does custom leatherwork that could make them. I'll contact him if anyone wants me to.

Seen a few different varieties in the tools in the kit' but this is a pretty good typical set up.
I wonder sometimes why I know all these details.

Thanks again! But, I've got more questions on this.
Did all our trucks come with that red tool kit box?
If not, does anyone have a picture of what those tools look like when stored behind the seat on a 72'?
What is that metal clip for on the folding jack crank?
Jacobs, I sure would be interested in one of those sleves, but for some reason my truck came with two folding cranks both are the same style and materials but a a long and short one. I'm thinking only one is right, but which one?

The red box in the picture is a set of relectors(I don't think every year had them my '72 has a different type) They were shipped loose.The clip on the crank handle is to lock it open when you are using it. Not sure on the length of the rod. The bag with the crank is held upright in the passenger side by the spring with the double loops that is screwed to the piller.

My first '68 had that box with the reflectors. I had no idea they were original. That truck was originally owned by the State of Michigan, and I thought they were aftermarket. Wonder if my dad saved them...

Some states like Illinois require a truck to have safety reflectors --even pickups. Perhaps it was a state by state requirement??
I just pulled an original jack and crank handle out of a very original 67. In this case, the foldable crank handle was mounted to a bracked that attached to the floor right at the lower pass side of the fuel tank and was held in place with a spring. It appears to be factory original.
