That's an extremely clean truck. I like it, and welcome to the board.

Re: New member here 78 gmc swb

Are you sure its a 78? I thought 78's had the fuel door...

Nice truck. Spindles up front and a shackle/hanger kit will get you a mild drop...spindles/springs an a flip kit will get you even lower. Both will improve ride and handling over stock.

Thank you and yea like 45 min give or take and every thing is pretty solid except the driver door which has cracks where the hinges go so I'll try and get it welded or I'll have to look for another door

Welcome to the site man, and great truck. I would drop it, but keep it usable and drive it! I would just keep the stock wheels with some nice OEM hubs, tired of seeing the humongous wheels, but its your decision.

Re: New member here 78 gmc swb

I would (apart from all the mechanical stuff) Flip it in the back, and use 2.5" spindles and 1" springs on the front. I used 2" springs with 2.5" spindles on the front of mine, and I don't like the rake I got. You can get 15 x8 wheel vintiques steelies to fill out the back , then just add the stereo of your choice, and beat the little heart out of the 250. My truck has a 250, It's cool, but even a Scion will out accelerate you.
