WHo runnin a PB dropmember with a big block?

I have DM with a big block and was curious of knowing what kind of setups you guys are running to accomadate DM.

What headers?

What oil pan?

What disturbitor?

and so on...

Since we are so limited to space what are suggestions that work for us for our truck builds?

Re: WHo runnin a PB dropmember with a big block?

Im I the only person with a DM and a big block or im I the only one on summer break. I guess I will say what I have so far.

For headers: Sanderson Headers BB8's

Dist.: MSD pro billet (haven't fit tested yet)

Have any of you guys had hood clearence issues, firewall, cab floor, or any other issue that has arised from the big block?

I will try to post as I go, this could help others with Big blocks and DM's.

Did you have to tunnel your cab floor?

How did your steering setup turnout on the shifting brackets?

Im trying to set the right angle on my engine, but if I put the engine straight like I perfer I have no space for steering shift brackets.

Any pictures of how you setup your steering brackets?

Great thread C10Sim. I have been waiting for someone to post up pics about this. I have big block in my '65, so this will be great info when I put a PB Dropmember in it. Keep the pics coming. What transmission are you running and did you have to clearance the floor any?

Im running a 700r4, as for the floor I'm still brainstorming ideas. Either I leave the floor alone and maybe do a minor tunnel or drop the body mounts about .5-1inch and then do a slightly bigger tunnel. I dont know, thier are different ways to approach this but first I have to set a plan and focus on what I really want then modify what is needed.

Possible approach #1:
-shave the 1 1/2'' of firewall lip and have an entire flush piece
-then relocate my hydrobooster under my frame if possible with (scott hotrods) brake assembly (this will clean up the firewall).
-body drop the cab an .5-1inch
-cut part of floor above booster so it can have clearence
-build tunnel
-and so on....

I will keep you posted on the direction that I proceed.
