Rain drains in doors?
I noticed what seems to be drains for rain in the bottom of my doors. Is this right? There are two sort of notches in the bottom of my doors about an inch long and less than a quarter inch wide at the front and back. Are our doors supposed to take on water that would necessitate these drains?

Re: Rain drains in doors?
You didn't think those window seals were actually waterproof did you? Yes, they are to drain any rain that may get in the doors. Over time they can get clogged up with dirt, pine needles, dirt, etc and if they aren't cleaned out, are a breeding ground for rust.

Re: Rain drains in doors?
When I did the inside of my doors I sandblasted everything I could reach, then slopped Zero Rust all over everything, and topped it all off with 3M Body Schutz. To keep those drains open I stuffed paint sticks in them, which fit just about perfectly.

That's a great idea, Mark. I think I'll do that.
GCncsuHD, I didn't think they did the way they were made, I just didn't look closely enough to see how it actually worked. |

When ever I was my truck, I direct tons of water down the outside of the glass (anti rattlers are tired) to keep them clean.
